from lying position to sitting, so i took him to my pediatric doctor today as I was worried, She said he has slight delay, and referred me to get a assessment from physical therapist. I am now worried, well she said he has no physical problems, she said you can wait and see or just get a pieace of mind and get assessment. Anyone else have issues with there babies like this, and what can I expect from pt and assessment

My daughter is the same way and is also 10 months old. She has no interest in pulling herself up at all. She sort of crawls (its more like leap frogging)...but she cannot get from her back to her front. I was worried at first, but am keeping an eye on her for now. She will figure it out in her own time. It doesn't seem to bother her at this point. I have to bring her in at 12 months for her inoculations and I think if it is still a problem I will have her pediatrician look at her and assess her.

My son was also slow to accomplish certain goals related to physical development. He was very big for his age (not fat) and so had more weight to "lift" when pulling himself up. I, too, was getting a bit worried at that age. Do some physical things with him, such as: help him pull himself up to a sitting position (from lying) by holding onto your hands. Help him stand from a sitting position by holding his hands. One day he'll be doing it all! It's a very good sign that he's crawling -- that's the most important for his physical development. My son didn't pull himself up to standing in his playpen until 11 months, and didn't walk on his own until 16 months. He was never athletically inclined as he grew older, but we did have him take swimming lessons (ages 6 - 10) and a bit of gymnastics when he was young to help with his coordination.

my daughter who was a twin didnt start walking till she was 15 months and she did didnt do this either like the pulling up thing. but this was because she was so spoiled by being held all the time. I hope everything works out ok for you!

our daughter refused to walk ...when she started crawling she didnt do it like normal babies noooo she went like a comando thought she was a soldier... then she started pulling herself up a little but lost interest there was to many things on the floor at her level she had nothing to climb up for so we started putting toys on the sofas she wanted them and she tryed pulling herself up to get them.... worth a try... she didnt walk properly untill she was over 1 year old before then she walked on her knees for months she even got hard skin on her knees in a way we knew she could have pulled herself up if she wanted to but she didnt and she didnt want to walk only on her knees.........
they all do things at different ages dont get yourself worried he will do it in his own time and on his terms...
just look forward to the day he does do it then the fun will start you wont get him to sit down
goodluck
