not many people have heard of him and i want to know for those of you who like his music, what's your favorite song. mine is jack the ripper.

He was always the guiding light of the Monster Raving Looney Party that took the piss out of politicians all during the 60s and part of the 70s..Ritchie Blackmoore was his guitarist before Purple..in 1968,he released an album called "Lord Sutch and His Heavy Friends" on Atlantic. It featured Pagey,John Paul Jones,Ritchie,Mitch Mitchell and several others I forget.He was a tireless self-promoter and a genuine English eccentric but not like Viv Stanshall.He was a one-off..Jack The Ripper was probably the tune most associated with him..I heard the LP often,but it was that one that stuck in my poor brain.RIP.

Yes. He was a British singer who was famous in the 60s. He was influenced by Screamin Jay Hawkins and featured a lot of theatrics in his show. I can't remember where but I saw a clip of him in an old movie. He was being attacked by some sort of villain onstage and pretended to shoot him(if my memory serves me right). He over the top.
