Is it fair to compare different sporting disciplines on an even scale? However, my choice of only 3 teams is as below. Being an Indian, I shall start with the only Indian option in the list.
1. The Indian Hockey Team from 1928 to 1956, when India won 6 Olympic golds in a row. The Indians mesmerised the world with their superb wizardry with the hockey stick. Dhyan Chand (represented the Gold Medal winning India Hockey Teams at Amsterdam in 1928, Los Angeles in 1932 and Berlin in 1936 as captain) came to be regarded as the greatest Hockey wizard of all times for his exceptional stick work.
2. The 1970 World Cup winning Brazil Football Team which incidentally won Brazil the World Cup (the Jules Rimet Trophy) for the third time after 1958 and 1962 and for which they were allowed to take home the trophy for good. The 1970 World Cup winning Brazil Team (which included such greats as Pele, Carlos Alberto, Gerson, Jairzinho, Rivelino and Tostao) is considered by most as the best ever football team of all times.
3. The formidable West Indian Cricket Team during the 1970s and 1980s comes third. During 1984 they set up an enviable record of 11 consecutive Test victories and two 5-0 "blackwashes" against England. They won 2 consecutive Cricket World Cups in 1975 and 1979 respectively. Some of the all time greats of World Cricket like Clive Lloyd, Colin Croft, Joel Garner, Larry Gomes, Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes, Michael Holding, Alvin Kallicharran, Malcolm Marshall, Vivian Richards, Andy Roberts, Lawrence Rowe, Curtly Ambrose, Ian Bishop, Jeff Dujon, Carl Hooper, Richie Richardson and Courtney Walsh played for the West Indies during that golden era making it the one of the most invincible cricket teams of all times.
You will notice that all the 3 teams had lots of great players and not just one or two famous ones. Watching them play was a joy to the spectator.
Bradman's Australian Cricket Team and the current Australian Team though undoubtedly great in their own right have 2 differences with the West Indians. Bradman's Team was more famous for Bradman rather than the team itself. In fact the period when the team played is known as the Bradman Era. The current Australian Cricket Team has recorded a series of convincing victories against all cricket playing countries and are also World Champions for 3 consecutive teams. It has perhaps the best record amongst all Cricket playing nations. But somehow their game is not as enjoyable as that of the West Indians. The team appears robotic and devoid of emotions. Manchester United can not compare with the 1970 Brazil Football Team on any account and I know pretty little about Boston Celtics.

West Indies cricket team of the 70s, not only were they hard to beat but people were actually scared to play them, especially on the cracking pitches at home. One of the One of the comentators in the most recent NZ/West Indies series said he was playing against the windies and the pitch was like a minefield and when there was an appeal for a catch behind and the umpire gave him not out he turned and walked off even though he hadn't hit it.

current Australian cricket team.. And for people who believe that Aussies are cheats, and the 70s WI were not, watch how Clive Lloyds drops Boycotts catch on purpose, cos Boycott does n bat with a great strike rate. If thats acceptable in the game of cricket then Aussies might as well do anything.
