I am always amazed and saddened by the fact that some of us only believe that we the individual have the right to an opinion and that the next person doesn't. It's a shame that we can not seem to remember that everyone has an opinion.

This is the state of our politics now and it is only getting worse just wait for the 2008 elections. Just remember that in 1960 even though there were multiple questions and some proven facts that the elections were rigged in a few areas of the country the then losing candidate for President told his party and supporters that he would not contest the race. The man who would be later vilified was Richard Nixon. Nixon knew that a race once over did not need to debated for the next 4 years for the good of our country. Unfortunately too many people forget this good example of patriotism.

Arguments are not hate. They are statements and viewpoints. There will always be hatred and anger and there will always be wars due to intolerance for the opinions and beliefs of others. As far as I'm concerned, anyone can say whatever they want on Answers and even though their words may appear hateful or racially biased, their opinions are important and their arguments and opinons should be presented. We don't have to accept their viewpoints but sometimes those venomous and hateful answers actually point to plausible solutions because love and hate are so closely aligned.

Personally I just have a few disagreements here and there.
So far I'm not sure I've ever gotten to the point of ever hating someone.
If I actually hated someone, either a user here or a political figure, then I'd probably find better ways to spend my time than getting worked up over some of the more petty issues.

No. But I deal in dirty human emotions for a living.
I find them to be universally human. And I do not believe any form of censureship will ever be a cure.
Free speech is the cure.
ADDED: There is rarely debate on this forum. This forum is not designed to encourage debate, and that is clear in the TOS. Just put your opinions out there and be willing to take criticism. Also, step around the offensive stuff. Report it is you wish.

That's not specific to answers- the internet unleashed that. Anonymity gives people who are ugly on the inside a place to speak aloud the things they get beaten for in public.

Chimp just answered you question. He decided not to answer the question , just spew a hate insult.
Temper Tantrums seem to be the norm around here.
And unlike the Chimpster, I will not blame or insult one side or the other.

You have to read through the hate. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE in this world has a sense of a big collapse coming. Our world is not secure and it is easier to make yourself feel more protected and etc. by hating those around you...which boils down to insecurity mostly.

people are very frustrated
doesn't matter which side of the issues you're on, or think you're on, these are miserable times
the us government is behaving pretty much like a dictatorship
the economy is bad, getting worse, and is destined ultimately to tank completely
the environment is screwed up
people have managed to make themselves very dumb because of advertising, games, tv, whatever
everyone feels powerless and the natural tendency is to hate and blame other people
the problems are not getting solved and everyone is melting down
sorry i don't have a better report for you

It seems to be the nature of political discussion. The other sections are mostly cordial and polite.
