If you have the money go Pro! It's always worth it, while the smaller one is still good and it's always better to put the extra money into something thats better. Especially with macs...that little extra goes along way! You'll be happier with a larger screen and plus the 13" scratches and smudges easier than the pro. The 13" at base is still a surprisingly great buy though, so if it seems like a stretch then just get the base model...it will still be better than your old pc...mac's just give you that effect. (i grew up on both macs and pcs and I must admit that macs have always been my favorite).

Well I hope this helps and try searching the internet for reviews on both or just go to the apple webpage (apple.com).

I got a 17" Mac book Pro for my graduation present. If you are planning on doing A LOT of multimedia like music, movies and pictures, I suggest the pro. The default programs that come with it are iTunes, iphoto, iMovie, Garage Band, and a lot more and It was great because I didnt have to buy or download them. I got Microsoft Suite for Macs and that came with word, PowerPoint, excel, and entourage. So Im already set for college.
The downside is that it is bigger, and a bit heavy. But I like that the screen is big so I can watch movies on it.
Get a Pro!!

Neither. Get yourself a regular laptop. Mac's are a rip-off and can do exactly the same thing a regular notebook can do. That is unless you want to be trendy, then go ahead with the macbook pro for it's uber-trendy appeal.

I personally like smaller ones, but I just bought an ubuntu Dell and they unfortunately don't offer anything but 15in.
