I didn't watch the whole thing, but I really enjoyed several episodes. What appropriate scheduling, and what a good program!

I agree with you. It did an excellent job in such a short time to give us reasons why the war occurred, an assessment of characters on all side involved, an excellent portrayal of how they fought and the weapons they used (wool uniforms in blistering heat, wow). Imagine standing 100 yards from the enemy and being fired upon, good political assessment of the causes and the insights of the Americans at that time. So many things to compliment the show. I could go on and on. For those unwilling to read about the Revolution this was a good method to learn. Maybe, should be required viewing of middle school and high school civic classes.

I am always impressed with History Channels treatment of the various subjects they televise. I only wish they produced more of these shows.

I am currently reading "John Adams" by David McCullough. I heard a TV series will be made based upon the book. The book is terrific and I expect the TV series will be also.

I did, and I enjoyed it as well. I am a U.S. History teacher, and I recommended the series to my students. I think it is important for kids to gain a deeper perspective on the causes and the people who were "major players".

I agree. Really first rate. I learned a bit about the post-Revolution days (under the Articles of Confederation).
I thought it was very well done.
