and I think Leonardo Da Vinci's most significant accomplishment is the Mona Lisa. Did you know that it is believed that the Mona Lisa was really based on a self-portrait of Da. Vinci?

I think the couage to study the human body through autopsy--or whatever that would be called. He taught us human biology WAY before anyone else!! He braved every political and religious power in order to do it! I'm not sure why he did it, other than to understand the bone and muscular structure for more accuate portrayal. Certainly his art and scientific ideas and designed was unsurpassed!

Most would say Leonardo's greatest work was the Mona Lisa even though the painting was rumored to never be finished.i myself would say his greatest painting was ...The last supper I think he was a better scientist than he was a artist...
