14 is a little too young for makeup...
However, the true art of makeup is to look as if you are not wearing makeup.
Strange, but true. You may want to see a cosmetologist (find one who is willing to share techniques with you) for your first makeup job.

it sounds like you feel overwhelmed! i was too when i started- i mean, all those brands, which colors to buy, and all that stuff! i think you should go ahead and wear some, but dont go overboart, go gradual, start with light blush (or bronzer) and brown mascara (looks more natural). ok lol about the mascara, we all have trouble with that in the beginning lol so heres what i did to improve: i bough a smudge free Washable mascara, dip the wand in the tube, remove excess, look in a mirror on the wall (holding one in your hand is wayy to hard to do) then get close to the mirror, open your eyes wide, and then hold the brush under ur eyelashes, then either blink into the brush or start from the base of lashes and swipe up in a quick motion. be sure to practice at home before going out in public! and if you put on a 2 coat always put on before 1 coat is dry-that prevents clumping. About your brother, if he sees you wearing makeup and asks about it just say something like " wearing makeup makes me feel more self confident and feminine, and besides all it does is ENHANCE your features. ha ha i used this line on my parents and it worked like a charm! just search around the internet for inspiration and how-to's and keep everything simple! good luck♥

I learned how to put on make-up at a young age from my mom. I would wear it for twirling comps. and such but then gradually started wearing it all the time.
The way I got most of my knowledge is trial and error. I would read an article on how to do something and would sit in front of the mirror and try till I got it right. IMO that is the best way to get good at make-up application.
Your brother is just being an overprotective guy...ignore him but love him for caring!
Since you are a starter talk to your mom and tell her you need help. Go to walmart and get a tinted moisturizer, some light eyeshadow, mascara, blush and lip gloss. Then you and her go home and she can show you how to go about this, then as you get more into it and such go for eyeliner and the other cool stuff and try, try again!
Hope this helps!
This would also be good for you and your mom to do girly stuff!

If you want to wear makeup, go ahead. I started wearing makeup at 13 yrs old. But because i was inexperienced, I only wore lip gloss, mascara, and a little bit of liner. I learned how to wear makeup by trial and error, and now I pretty good at apply makeup, that I do it for other people. You just go at your own pace. Start by wearing a little amount of makeup. Trust me, you dont want to wear alot (one time I tried to do the smokey eyes look, and it looked awful, it was so embarrassing). As years go by and you get more experienced, you will be able to be like a pro.

Go to the makeup counter at a local department store and ask for a demonstration. You neve rhave to buy anything and you could always just buy the lipstick (usually the cheapest) and you'll walk away with some knowledge.
Ask your mother or an adult womanyou know who wears good face to show you, my mom was excited about showing me how to properly wear makeup to ensure I didn't look like a clown lol.
Attend or host a makeup party! MaryKay offers parties and hosting is free! You could have your girlfriend over and your mom's girlfriends if you wanted and have a great time trying new looks and getting advice and suggestions.
Pick up some books from the library or bookstore that show you how to do makeup. You can practice until you get it the way you want it. Magazines are also helpful in this respect.
Good luck!!!

to answer this i would a picture of you to judge if you truly need makeup im sorry but for some the au natural look is just not so flatering but for others it works just fine. i think you should wear it when you wantto feel good like a date, dance, specail day oer whatever just not everyday. as for bro tell him to cry most girls wear makeup at some point in time, brothers are more concerned with the effects or reason behinhd the make up ie boys etc... unless hes younger in which case hes just tying to annoy you
so makeup yes
but not all day everyday doesn't sound like you want to wear it all the time

Sounds like you are more concerned with whether your brother will approve than if it is right or wrong to wear makeup. Whether to wear it or not is a very individual thing but my opinion is that it is okay to wear makeup. Your brother may not approve, but if you like it, he will get used to it. He's just not used to seeing you with makeup on. If you use makeup in moderation, it will look good. Don't lay it on too heavy. Mascara is easy to use. Just select the color your want, pull out the wand and brush it onto your lashes. Eyeshadow is not that complicated but there are lots of colors to choose from. Pick one that compliments your skintone or highlights the colors of an outfit you are wearing. If you choose an eyeshadow duo (2 colors in one compact) the lighter color goes on the upper part of your eyelid (just beneath your eyebrow) the darker color goes on the crease of your eyelid. You may want to get help from someone who knows what they are doing at first.

I started wearing makeup in the 8th grade and I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you start off light. Don't wear foundation. Try a little mascara, lip gloss, and light blush to start. If you want to experiment with eye shadow, go with the theory that less is more. Try a little bit of color along your lash line. Don't extend past your lid or up to your eyebrows. Good luck and have fun!

yeah, 14 is a good age to experiment a little, and can give you more confidance in yourself at an age where everything can be crazy. light makeup is the key, though. coverup is good, a little blush (if youre pale), mascara, and lipgoss are all you need at that age (otherwise girls tend to look like four year olds who got in moms makeup kit). this way you can have a little glow while still looking naturally pretty.

Yes wear makeup. Only wear a little bit though. Makeup does not make you beautiful it ENHANCES it I see some girls your age mess everything up because they think a LOT of makeup makes them look better.. In truth it only makes them worse
and wear eye shadow colors that complement your skin tones and remember
a Little bit goes a long way!!!! ]
hope I could help!!!
You don't want any makeup that overpowers you!
