Time efficient would be nice too, but its the money really that matters.

The cheapest boats are the slow ones (like 7 hrs to reach Mykonos) they cost more or less 20 euros per person. Then there is the average speed boat Blue Star it takes about 5 hrs and the price is like 28 euros. The highspeed boat takes 3 hrs but costs 46 euro per way. The cheapest one way flight is the morning flight (5:40 am) of Olympic airways, if you book the cheapest fare the price is Euro 69 taxes included. Anyway, I would suggest you the Blue Star boat which is very modern , the price is OK and the trip not too long. Have a great time in Mykonos, the jewel of Cyclades. xxx

Take the Blue Star Line ferry from Piraeus; including the short stops at Siros & Tinos Islands you will reach Mykonos after 5 hours. The ferries are comfortable and the trip costs +/- 50€ (2005). Inland flight are costing +/-108€ (2007).

Jen,

I've been to Greece several times and unfortunately I haven't been to Mykonos.

I would think that the quickest and cheapest way is by means of a local charter plane out of Athens. You probably want to check out boat prices, but I think you're probably going to end up on a "puddle jumper" prop plane.

Good luck, I'm envious.
