Plaid shorts?

Question

How do you match tees with plaid shorts?
Does the color of the tee have to match with the MAIN COLOR of the plaid shorts or the SECONDARY COLOR?

EXAMPLE:
For these plaid shorts:
- MAIN COLOR: red (it's obvious)
- SECONDARY COLOR: brown (horizontal stripes)

Definetly match with the brown. If you wore a red tee with this, you'd look just too matchy and thats just tacky. Of course, you could really use any solid tee as long as the colors didn't clash.

The color of the t-shirt can match any of the colors in the shorts, and you can never go wrong with white! Just don't wear a shirt with a lot of different colors on it, and make sure that the shade of the shirt is the same shade as the stripes on the shorts.

I think it looks better if you match the secondary color. Or if there is multiple shades of brown involved in plaid, you could go with any shade of brown. I'm guessin you are a guy, so try not to get to matchy unless you are into the whole metrosexual thing

You should match the shorts with the secondary color which is brown because there is already enough red

You should match them with the secondary color. If you wore a red shirt it would probably look ok, but it might be too much red. I would look for a brown shirt with a little red in it, like these:

You could wear a brown shirt, or even a tan shirt (there was tan in them too) and I guess if you wanted to wear a red shirt, it would match but it would probably be too much red. But hey, if you really like red go for it. Other than that you could wear dark brown or tan just as long as it is a solid colored shirt.

any color on the shorts will do for the shirt but the color has to match the shorts.

Either, it doesn't matter so long as your shirt bring out one of the colors in your shorts. It can be main or accent.

dont do red. plaid is already bold enough, you dont want to be all of the same color. try brown,

wear a solid coloured polo or something
but definately without patterns-it will be too much to have patterns everywhere
try a brown polo, that would be awesome ^^
