Freedom lies in personal accountability
As personal accountability diminishes, freedoms will be removed to replace them.
Example: People can't get off their cell phones while driving despite the danger to others, and feel no personal accountability for the added risk they cause, hence laws are created to remove that freedom instead.

With me freedom lies with truth and integrity, proper conduct fears no exposure and inturn builds good character. Acceptance with lack of action, not enough people stand up for what they believe in. American's want to fight for what they believe in, but are tired from the handeling of their responsabilities. It is becoming no longer we the people, but we the goverment for the goverment. Freedom seems to be going down hill. The goverments actions by giving enough to allow others to just get by passify's the moment and hinders growth which limits freedom. Compared to other countries we/the USA have alot more freedom, but as far as money, it's a doggy dog America.

Freedom is a mental construct. It only exists in your life if you believe that you are free. If you believe in your own freedom, then no outside power can take it from you.
Thus, it really lies in integrity. Integrity is taking actions that are in keeping with your personal ideals and beliefs about yourself. You must act like one who is free, in order to be free. (Truth is a little more difficult to pin down, as there is no objective way to know it.)

Each action or inaction that you take represents a freedom. You can be on Death Row, and be more free than one who feels chained to their desk at work to support a partner no longer loved and ungrateful spiteful children. When you are presented with a decision to be made (how do I react to this occurence or situation?) or NOT made, you exercise your freedom. Or, you maintain your own prison. You are free to rebel, knowing or not knowing that you will be punished or killed for it. You may refuse to take drugs or socialize, you are free to impair your judgement or even hurt yourself. Freedom to me, is exemplified by not harming, molesting or abusing others if that has happened to you, because I would never want the ugliness that has marred life, to be passed along to another in a vain, distorted attempt to compensate for those moments where (as in all our lives) our freedom was compromised by being weaker than or vulnerable to others. Be free dear--be good even when others want to besmirch you with cruelty or domination. Love is freedom

Freedom is for the most part an illusion in a world of finitude and contingency-- what little genuine freedom we might possess is made possible by humility and detachment from one's ego driven desires.

Freedom can only exist in the mind. And most of us will never even find it there.

To me, and I can't say this applies to everyone because that is impossible to know, but to me, Freedom- true freedom lies in the mind.......cuz if I am imprisoned in any way, be it body, word, or socially, I am always free to think as I DAMN WELL please.
