I am Christian and American and so naturally did not have an arranged marriage. But I do know several Muslims that did have arranged marriages and this is what they have to say about it. The good things are: your parents already like this person and feel that they would best compliment you and who knows you better than the people that raised you and genuinely want you to be happy?; they are probably of the same upbringing, religion and values and that will cut down on a lot of arguments on how to live and raise children and such. To me, the bad points would be, what if there is no chemistry? You would have someone that is everything your family would want you to be with, but might not feel any more to you than a friend, family. Not like the connection you have with a mate. However, I am told that this is something that develops over time.
