I've already planned my funeral. All the paper work is in place with enough inssurance to cover everything I want. Among my many music selections are "In the Arms of an Angel" , "The Three Bells" (Jim Ed Brown) and "You'll Never Walk Alone".
And there are several traditional Christian hymns as well. I'm set to go when God gets ready for me. As far as the theme, I don't much care since I will be cremated

Interesting question -
Well, for me I wouldn't have much of a choice about some parts of it - in my religion one part of the funeral is a religious rite (Islam) and it's different from the Christian funeral. There's a prayer and then the burial, and afterwards there's visitation. So during the visitation I'd have pizza given to everyone - all kinds of different pizza for whoever wants, and also hot dogs. And then I'd have them all play some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Nintendo and just talk about me.
Of course, that would just be something I'd put in the will, and I couldn't verify it - but hey, it doesn't matter because I wouldn't know and at that point when I'm dead it doesn't matter much to me what's happening up above in the funeral.

I have planned my funeral and instructions have been left. It will be a non-religious funeral because I am an atheist and several of my friends will talk about my life (lots to talk about there, lol). I keep changing my mind about the music but it will have to be "With or Without You" U2 and something by Stevie Wonder, probably "There's a Place in the Sun."
And, of course, I would want everyone to be a bit sad..........

Celine Dion's song from the Titanic, Judy Garland's Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and Your Song by Elton John. My theme would be:you are loved, I'm grateful for all that has been given to me, and I'm very sorry for my screw ups. At the end, I'd have them play Respect by Aretha Franklin. And after that a barbecue with hot dogs, hamburgers, coke, lemonade, potato salad, chips, etc etc. Last stop the Santa Monica Pier to toss my ashes..Sounds like a plan to me.

I would want to weird everyone out. There would be sinister clowns giving all the mourners balloons. I would have the Osmonds, Wombles and Napoleon XIV playing in the background
Then someone would solomnly sing my reworking of Poor Judd from Oklahoma.
Poor Elaine is dead,
Poor Elaine (at last) is dead.
And no-one has come to the funeral.
I couldn't get away
I don't have holiday
And anyway, she was getting so banal.
Poor Elaine is dead
Poor Elaine (AT LAST) is dead
The minister is missing all the fun.
He came but when he saw
No-one coming through the door
He had a wedding so he had to run.

I already got my plot and stone with a Shamrock on it...and I want a purple coffin. I wish for no funeral to speak of. But if there is music... I would like played the entire "Walk the Line" album by Reese Witherspoon, Joaquin Phoenix...and Jerry Lee Lewis and anything else that expresses life and let there be lots of drink, food, bop and dancing, please... I want everyone to have a wild time.

I want the church to have lit jack-o-lanterns in all the windows and the guests to come dressed in Halloween costumes. A pipe organ playing gothic music would work, too! Afterwards, I'd want everyone to have a picnic by moonlight in the cemetery. A celebration is called for! I'm out of this earth and no more pain!

If I could plan my own funeral I would want it to be a solemn occasion but with people allowed to dress in casual clothes because I don't like to dress up.
The music I'd have played would be like knocking on heavens door by bob dylan, stairway to heaven by led zepplin and bury me not by johnny cash.

For one thing definate I would not want anyone wearing black. I haven't got a theme in mind but I have always wanted the song ' You'll never walk alone played at my funeral.
NoI am not a Liverpool fan because I am a Man. Utd fan, but I love the words to that song.

A 70's theme with the music from that era, I loved the 70's so I will go for that, as long as its a good party and everyone enjoys themselves I will be laid to rest happy.
