Visit your website, minimise the page, right click on your desktop, select 'properties', click the settings tab and adjust the screen resolution, and then maximise your web page again.

Opera can vary the screen a bit and you can diddle your resolution a bit, but believe me, you GOTTA test on other PCs, elsewhere, to get an honest test. Go to the public library. Find pals. You will be surprised at, even the same brand of computer as yours, set up in (YOU MAY THINK!) the very same way...displays your website differently. I found that out this summer (grrrr...) And test on several browsers on those computers, and find someone with a Mac if you don't have one.

All this, if you're REALLY interested in appealing to a broad audience! And I can promise, not to give you a hard time, but to reflect on my own, yer in for some true grief!

The only reasonable way to test different monitor sizes is to actually fire it up on the appropriate monitor! Resolution can be tested more conveniently however. For example, Firefox's "Web Developer" add-on has a "resize" option for testing at different resolutions. Check it out!

PS. I'm pretty sure you want to be testing different resolutions and not physical screen sizes!

There can't be many 14" screens around these days but you never know.

Right click anywhere on your desktop and select Properties.

Then click on the Settings tab and move the slider about.

change your screen resolution, its that that changes the picture not so much the size of the screen.

Id imagine everyone has a screen resolution of at least
1024x768 these days.
