I still don't think I understand or know almost everything and I haven't a clue what I want to do for the rest of my life.

well I am almost 30 and I still don't know. There are a lot of things that I love to do and there are a lot of things that I do because the pay is good. So really it just comes down to can you live on your dreams or work for "The Man" to make enough money to be happy.
So I really don't think that age has much to do with it. I think that you have to be settled in your mind and in your life

I'm 54 and I've had too many changes and twists in my life to ever believe I know and understand everything--sometimes don't know anything--so there is no special age. You can make plans, hope, and try, but in the end, it will be nothing like you thought. I don't know what I want to do with the rest of my life but I had fun getting here and I hope to go on living.

the point that you know just about everything and understand just about everything is the point right before you die. you can't do anything with it but you understand why people are the way they are and how to respond/react to people. and once you realize everything you need to know to live a great fulfilling life, your life ends. :-(
at what point do you know what you want to do with the rest of your life, well you can say the same thing as above or once you are married and or have children and you life is over that's when you understand everything and know exactly what you want to do in life and at that point ANY hope of doing what you want is out the window and a new goal in life starts (not necessarily one you want)

Like most people my age, I've thought I pretty much had a handle on things several times: once around 26, again when I neared 40, another in the early 50s.
I'm now acknowledging that while I understand a lot of human behaviors, enough to be capable of empathy even when I cannot sympathize, I know nothing. Nothing at all.
It's the basic human condition, and sheer hubris to think otherwise.

I don't think anyone ever really knows everything, even if they think they know what to do with the rest of their lives. So many things can happen to change your thoughts and views. I'm 30 and I seriously don't know even half of everything. Maybe out of everyone I know, my 82 year old pop would know. He's always giving me advice, and it's not silly, it always makes sense, but he never shuts up!!! He's certainly still all there. How about you, do you feel like you know all you need to know in your life?

I think that theres no particular age. But, when you find whatever it is you want to do with your life your heart will lead you there. And, you are truly blessed if you ever get to find that one thing that you'd want to do for the rest of your life & it makes you happy.

To me personally, I think you will never really stop learning.
But I think you know everything, when you know that you DONT know everything.
