I'm not happy with either side of the political process. Which one should I support and why?

No one can answer that. You need to look at your beliefs and values and decide which one is closer. There is also Libertarian and the Green Party, although personally I think they are both waste of votes.

If you think people are smarter than the government don't vote for the Democrats. If you on the other hand think that the Government is where all the good comes form vote for Democrats - Watch your taxes skyrocket.
Personally it is more important that EACH & EVERY bill ONLY consist of one item with all additions be only aload to clarify the arguement. This would allow the constituants to know where the politician stands (who's pocket they're in)

The Republicans, of course.
The Republican Party supports: free enterprise, individual liberty; a strong national defense; family rights; deregulation; state's rights, quality education, and the overall liberty of the individual.
The Republicans criticize: judicial activists, homosexual marriage, forced busing, abortion, homosexual priests; and creeping socialism.
As it stands, the Republican Party has an observable political platform that allows you to know their position on the issues; the Republicans are a party of the rational.
The Democrats are a party of the left. The independents are a mystery and you don't know where they stand; and the libertarians sit squarely on the fence.

I would vote Libertarian as many people are who are sick of the 2 parties.
