Depends...how old are you going to be and what are you close to?
If you're going to be 21 you have to have the most amazing time. Personally I would fly to Vegas with some friends and get an amazing cake! I would gamble of course and see a few sights too!
If you're going to be older I think something similar would be fun as well. Just b/c your older doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun.
In general for most ages...you can throw a party and invite a bunch a friends over or go see a friend with a pool or something and bring your other friends there or go to the beach...still get a great cake...that really makes the day special if you ask me.
You can even go to the closest city or area where there are a lot of different things you can do and see (fairs, clubs, shows etc.).
Get some fireworks, dance around, act a bit silly and have someone taking some pictures (the goofiest ones are the best when all is said and done)!
What have you wanted to do or learn about recently? ... go out and do it Carpe Diem!

I would spoil yourself, go get your nails done and make-up! Then go to a bed-n-breakfast for the day! This is a relaxing birthday....
Party birthday, go to the beach and party all night long. Also bring tents to spend the night out on the beach! We did that one time, and it was fun! Except there wasn't any outhouses :(

Awesome. Since you birthday is in the summer, I think you should have a party at the beach. My friends did it before it was a blast. You can bring food and refreshments there too. Happy Birthday!

Happy B-Day! No idea on how to celebrate... I normally take the day off of work and go to a beach or small town nearby with my GF... we have a nice dinner, then a bar or club, spend the night, wake late, breakfast in bed,see the sights, beach or pool... go home late afternoon.
