Depends, but a production designer works to develop and maintain an overall look and tone, who works with a Set Decorator who manages the visual look of the film. The Propmaster keeps and organizes all the set props. One of these areas will designate the continuity person.

That would be the "Continuity"girl,or guy.probably one of the hardest jobs on a set.Ain't it jarring when a charater enters a scene wearing one color suit and exits the same scene wearing another?That's the kid of stuff they have to watch out for before some sharp-eyd member of the audiance yells,"Hey!Did you guys see that!"

I thought they call that person the Director of Photography but it isn't because that it all about cinematography. You would think this would be it because they have to remember exact places where items were in previous shots.
