I asked the question about fleas the other day. I was wondering, if a couple of people are in the same area and fleas are around, will they ALL get bit or are fleas just attracted to certain people?? I have a million bites and my husband doesn't. My mom has a dog in her house and my sister has a dog in her house too. Though they rarely go outdoors. But mom has cats AND dogs outside her house and under her house and on her porch. BUT, I am the ONLY one who is getting bit by these things!! Why?? I feel like a dog or cat myself, and that I need a damn flea collar!By the way, thanks to everyone who answered my last flea question!I have done what everyone said to do this week. I went to my mom's last night and this morning I woke up with a 100 more bites in the same places around my ankles!!So I'm starting to think that these things are hitching a ride on me at my mom's and I'm carrying them back to my house and THAT'S where they are coming from! BUT my mom or sis have NO bites at all.Help!

Also, how long does it take for flea bites to be visible? Will one flea cause multiple bites or have I been attacked by a 1,000 fleas and not seen or felt ANY of them???!!! (I'm going insane! I have NEVER had a flea problem or bite in my life. Help!)

Do you still need to throw away your vaccum bag every time you have used a carpet powder for killing fleas? Will the powder kill them in the bag? Just wondering!

I know what you mean. When fleas got in my carpet I didn't even know they were there until they started biting the kids. Fleas just don't bite me. They are terribly hard to get rid of. I used Enforcer carpet powder twice and left it on the carpet overnight. I also put Advantage on my dog and Frontline on my cat....No more fleas. Hurray! Oh, and I vacuumed like 10 times a day each time...and emptied my vac.

Some people are more susceptible to flea bites than others - the redness around the bite is caused by irritation to the skin, and some people's skin is more sensitive than others.

It is possible you're carrying fleas home - they're not supposed to travel around on humans, but it seems they do. Either that or you're getting bitten at your mum's and the bites aren't showing up until the morning - I don't know how long it takes a bite reaction to form, but I suspect it varies from person to person.

What flea treatments are your mom and sister using for their animals? Anything? Even if they're not getting bitten, their animals will be so they need to get this sorted - direct them to a vets for some proper treatment!

I read on a website:
http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2081.html
that some people are just more sensitive to flea bites. So everyone else might actually have been bitten, but you are the only one that has a sensitivity to the bites. Really the only thing I can suggest is spraying bug spray on your legs before going to their houses.

Our vet told us that fleas are extremely bad this year and everyone is having problems keeping the critters away. I have to spray my yard every two weeks to keep them under control.

Hope that helped a little.

Nah fleas just like to annoy people. Stop letting them get on your nerves & ignore them & they might go home & pick on sombody else.
