There is no such thing as a totally virus free OS. Windows suffers the most because it's the most used.
That said, Mac and even Linux have had a bit of trouble with viruses. They simply do not suffer in the quantity that Windows does because:
1. They are not used as much as Windows.
2. They are based on the Unix kernel which is more virus resistant than the kernel used by Windows.

its not really the computers, its the internet. people purposly want you to click on ads so it will take you to the website that gives you viruses. thats why they invent firewall and stuff to protect your computer.
i effin hate viruses though. they ruin EVERYTHING!
