Cricket is known as a "GENTLEMAN'S GAME" and let's try to keep it that way. The game of Cricket has no room for sledging! There is noting wrong in criticizing a batsman's shot or a bowler's delivery, but when you try to invoke comments of a player's wife/girlfriend then in my opinion that is stepping beyond the boundary!
A good, "clean" example of sledging was during the West Indies tour of England in 2004, Andrew Flintoff sledged the tail-ender Tino Best by saying "Mind the windows, Tino!" Tino was stumped next ball trying to hoist the ball into the stands.

Wicketkeepers frequently sledge batsmen, who must face the bowler. The wicketkeeper usually seemingly talks to himself, but with a voice loud enough for the batsman to hear. Frequently the wicketkeeper intimidates the batsman with comments about the bowling, sometimes by congratulating the bowler, a famous example of this was Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist repeatedly shouting "Bowling, Shane" after Shane Warne's deliveries in the Ashes. Sometimes the wicketkeeper or slip fielders encourage the batsman to "slog" the ball, risking being bowled out, stumped, or caught making a rash stroke. For example, during the West Indies tour of England in 2004, Andrew Flintoff sledged the tail-ender Tino Best by saying "Mind the windows, Tino!" Tino was stumped next ball trying to hoist the ball into the stands.

most gentelman like sledging been done by wicket keeper Kumar Sangakkara.
cuz he is really educated man he knows how to destract the batsmen by saying things to be affected to the batsman in most diplomatic way
he said " ashraful where's your world cup heroics"
repeatedly in first ininngs of first test match last week.
Ashraful got out trying most ridiculous shot.

Adam Gilchrist sledges by loudly congratulating the bowler after every couple of balls to distract the batsman.
