Name of a specific rose?

Question

Name of a climbing rose pale, pale pink flat flowers w/ a tinge of darker pink that form a square and came together like a wedding bouquet, total blooms approx. the same size. Saw it in Siasconset on Nantucket this week. Dying to find out what it is so I can get one for my mom.

Hi - I have a summer home in Sconset. The two primary climbing roses are New Dawn (pale pink) and American Pillar (bright pink petals that get white toward the center and a gold center). New Dawn is easy to find and grow. American Pillar is a very old rambler....hard to find. Hope this helps! Do you remember EXACTLY where you saw this rose. I could probably pin point it for you.

Sounds interesting. If it is on a property then what I do is introduce myself to the owner and ask if they know. Don't be surprised if they do not because sometimes I find that the rose has been there for decades and the name quite lost to memory. Sometimes the owner will also allow me to take cuttings so I can try and propagate for myself.

You seem to be describing a blush pink rose that opens flat with quartering that is growing in a cluster.

I am going to guess you might have seen a 'Cecile Brunner' the sweetheart rose in a climbing form. This is a polyantha, nearly thornless, that produces small clusters. Syn 'Mlle. Cécile Brunner' & 'Mignon'.

Another possibility is Mme. Alfred Carrière but this is very nearly white but sometimes flushed soft pink. Being a noisette it is not likely to be very cold hardy.

'Awakening' is very fully double with flat rosettes packed with quilled or quartered petals with an apple fragrance. A wichurana rambler that can reach 12 feet.
