Sorry, but I have to differ with TL. I'm a BIG B. J. Thomas fan, as well as a music lover of many genres & artists. I'm almost 50, was raised on Traditional Country, and still like it, and a lot of the more Contemporary Country music out there, including what a lot of traditionalists consider Pop, not Country, from the 70's (John Denver, Olivia Newton-John, & etc.). B. J. very well may have a lot of appeal to fans of Country music, but I definitely would NOT consider him Country or Country cross-over. His music is Pop/Easy Listening/70's Top 40.
Additionally, I work in a Country Dance Hall & Saloon, where we book live bands (cover & original), and employ 3 DJ's. I have worked there for almost 3 years, and was a customer for about 12 years prior to that. In that time, I have NEVER heard any of them (bands or DJs) play a BJ Thomas song - Country (Traditional & Contemporary), Southern Rock, & Rock (as Chris LeDoux sang in one of his songs, "even cowboys like a little bit of rock n' roll"), but NEVER BJ Thomas. (nor at ANY other country bar I've ever been to around the US).
As far as what B. J. Thomas songs do I like .................. pretty much all of them. Think I'd probably have to say that my 2 favorites of his are "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" & "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother".

Hell yeah, especially since people tell me I sing like him"Hooked on a Feelin'"is one of my favorites and yes,you could consider him a 'cross-over"although it's been a lng time since he's had a hit in that catogory.
