So-
I have a 10 month old & don't like our current high chair. I am debating between getting:
Eddie Bauer HIgh Chair
Fisher Price Aquarium Healthy High Chair
Hook on chair for table
Booster seat (we have one, but don't like this brand).
Also- keep in mind that we want to have another baby in the next year, but I guess we can always purchase something then if we need a different one. (even borrow from a friend).
Thanks for you help.
OH- the problem is that in ours now, he is pulling himself up to almost standing and we have to give him toys to entertain him while we prepare his food (but he likes to drop the toys, so this takes a while).
Thanks!

Can you give some suggestions on brands, too? Thanks (I'm new to all of this :) )

We HATE our wood Eddie Bauer high chair. While it looks nice - and more mature - not being plastic. Its horrible to clean between the wood slats, heavy to move, and the straps are a really goofy length.

If I had to do it again, Id either go with the booster. Or one of those really simple mod looking high chairs - looks kind of like a bowl. Or even one from a restaurant supply.

I have 6 kids and have had many highchairs over the years. My favorite by far is made by Graco. It is the cheap one you can get at Walmart for about $30. They are very stable, my kids climb up the front to get in and it has never tipped, which is nice when your pregnant and don't want to lift a toddler. It is easy to clean, the cover comes right off and you can spray it off outside! And when the seatbelt is buckled, my kids have never been able to get out. And I have a couple of escape artists! They are sturdy, sturdy, sturdy. Best of all they are cheap, so when you need to buy a second one, its no big deal. Sorry, can't help you with the toy throwing. They just love to do that!!

I've been using the "portable booster chair" that you attach to a regular chair since my baby was born. It really does save space-so long as no one uses the chair you keep it attached to. Plus, you can use it just as long as a regular high chair(maybe longer because the weight restriction must be higher considering it is sitting on a normal adult chair).

Don't waste your money on ANOTHER high chair...go with the booster chair at the table. Baby is old enough and big enough to comfortably sit in one and they are A LOT easier to clean!!

I have the portable chair that you hook on to the table. We only use it when we go out to a restaurant. Its great, but it took a while for my baby to get big enough to sit in it properly. She could sit - just could barely see ofer the edge of the table.... so I'd get something new for your 10 month old - but keep your old highchair for using with your new baby-to-be.

i have only ever used the booster chairs you hook onto a regular dining chair, they save so much room!!!! i have never regretted it, i can take them with me if i want to, and they are much easier to deal with than a high chair, and they can go in the dish washer!

we use the safety 1st brand. i have 4 of them!
