not all of them do, they were just raised to believe that (religion), plus some can't understand it because to them, they just can't relate

Because straight men think that their way is the only way.
Gay just happens like straight just happens so I guess they are a bit stupid in that respect.

Because straight people think they choose being straight, therefore you must choose being gay.

I don't agree with that, but that is how it has been explained to me.

Because they are afraid that if it is NOT a choice, then if they figure out THEY are gay, they won't be able to "get out of it".

(Did that make sense?)

In other words, they are hoping it is a choice so that if they find out they are gay, they can "get out of it".

There is no evidence to show that being gay is genetic.

"Claims that the part of the brain known as the hypothalamus is influential in determining sexual orientation, have yet to be substantiated. At the moment it is generally thought that biological explanations of sexuality are insufficient to explain the diversity of human sexuality."

See, there is no proof that there is any genetic reason why a person chooses to be gay. However there is this...

"a female dominated upbringing in a gay man's past, with an absence of a male role model. Others stress adherence or deviance from conformity to gender roles, and individual psychological makeup."

"What is clear is that people's behavior is influenced by their family environment, their experiences and their sense of themselves. Beliefs about sex are initially shaped by family values. Later on these beliefs may be shaped by pleasant and unpleasant experiences of sex and also shape their choice of activities and partners. Throughout their life a person's sense of who and what they are has a strong impact on their sexual development and experience."

In other words, kids from divorced homes raised by mom have a better chance of becoming gay. Also kids with low self esteem are likely to choose to be gay as well.

You were not born that way and you will find out on judgment day! We choose who and what we sleep with. There is nothing that dictates our sex drive other than our own fantasies and dreams.
