A lot of females are in love with the thought of Hillairy running... alot of Minorities are in love with the thought of Obama running... but the thing is, the election is EVERYBODY. Hillairy Clinton will never win the 2008 election. I'm serious about that. Obama has a chance though. I'd say the real dark horse in this race is about to enter it. Fred Thompson is getting ready to step in and take over. He appears to have Bill Clinton charisma and Ronald Reagan stances. The charisma will win over some women, the stances will win over some moderates, and the republican tag will win over the right wing. Presidential elections end up being all about winning over the moderates.

Loaded question you got here. It is a shame to say it but this country will not elect a female or minority president because racism and sexism are alive and well still. Should we elect one? Yes. But we won't. Should females and minorities still run? Yes. The more often it happens the more used to the idea the public will become.

I don't think that's the kind of diversity that matters in a politician. Hillary and Obama are more of the same McPolitics we've been getting for decades. If you want a true "first" in the White House, you should support Congressman Ron Paul for President in 2008. He would be the first President to respect his oath to protect the Constitution since before Roosevelt.

Think about it: his voting record is 100% consistent. Even in a time of national hysteria, he voted AGAINST the PATRIOT act on constitutional grounds, the only GOP candidate to have done so. He voted AGAINST the Iraq war, again the only Republican to do so. He never jumps on the political bandwagon and for this reason he is able to ron his campaign ON his voting record, rather than away from it, like Hillary and Obama.

The United States is ready for a female or minority to be President. The ones who are currently running for the office may or may not be the ones best qualified for the job, and it would not serve the people well to elect one just because of the gender or ethnic issues. Voters have a responsibility to themselves and to the rest of the people of the country to elect the best person for the job, regardless of gender, race, color, creed or the country of origin ot their ancestors.

We're ready for a black president. Black racism and white guilt actually make it easier for a black person to become president.

Lots of liberals may be ready for a female president (some of them might even vote for a woman just as a result of sexism against men), but conservatives might not be. Men don't feel the same guilt for the historical mistreatment of women that whites feel for the historical mistreatment of blacks. Plus there are even a lot of women who wouldn't want a female president. I'm not sure a liberal woman could win. But if it were a conservative woman, then she might be able to win by getting votes from both sides.

Why does something like a female or minority president require us a country to prepare for it? What your question implies is that on the whole, we remain a racist and sexist country. It's not like the candiates would be sub-par just because they are female or minority. We're long overdue and in my opinion, should focus on qualifications and platforms rather than superficial judgement! In this respect, the US is so far behind Europe and Asia.

Sure we are but it has nothing to do with that. Obama and Clinton both are horrible candidates.

Clinton - I mean really do we need the Clinton/Bush thing to continue. It is too many years of them being in office and they are CFR influenced and pushing a lot of hidden agendas.

Obama- The man seems nice enough but he is also a CFR and bought out candidate. Not to mention he doesn't have enough experience Nor will he take our troops out right away. He says he has a series of checkpoints set up for Iraq. That could take 10 plus years.

We should all know by now that these corporate candidates will keep us in IRaq, they are influence by the Council on Foreign Relations, and the private oversees company the Federal Reserve's agendas.

Please do not be fooled. Vote for Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is going to end these lucrative governmental programs that are ruining this nation and our sovereignty and constitution. He will end programs that are ineffective and wasteful of our tax dollars such as the War on drugs, the war on poverty and let the free market take over and fix things. He will also give more power to the states to decide on things such as gay marriage and abortion. These aren't federal issues that the Dems and Neo-cons republicans are using to divide this country because they want you to believe you are really getting a choice in this election. You need to seriously understand you are getting corporate and internationally influenced politicians. Ron Paul will not accept money from corporate lobbysits and is not a bought out candidate. He never will be. His history and voting record prove he votes and stands for what he believes in.

Please take a look at him. Join the R3VOLution!!!

If the people of this republic nation are not willing to uphold and obey constitutional laws, and defend it along with liberty and justice for all, then it does not really matter who our president is , because the country will never be ready for anything. It will digress though! What a shame that is, because I love America! :(

If the poeple of this Republic Nation do obey constitutional laws and so does the president, and they are good people, then it still does not matter who the president is! It will progress! :)

Yes. I believe that the majority of people are ready to vote for the right candidate - no matter what the person's race or gender. Unfortunately, no worthwhile female or minority representatives have stepped forward.

I'm kind of on the fence on this. I would really like to think that we are ready and I almost do, but at the same time, I've got this feeling in the pit of my stomach (I think that's the expression?) that if one of them is nominated it might just help the Republicans. I hope I'm wrong and I support Obama, but I just hope my fears are put to rest by election time.
