In today's CHristian music, do you think we are sugar coating the truth sometimes? (im a little frustrated with today's Christian songs)

Also, while sharing The Truth with some non Christians and former Christians, do we ourselves sugar coat Christianity?

I mean I'm not saying we should force things down people's throat, cuz thats not what Jesus would want us to do and thats not what he did either when he was around

Buf if we earnestly and genuinely reach out to non Christians and former Christians and share the Truth and leave it at that, don't you think that's enough? It would just light a spark or bring some curiosity

If we just talk to them and pray and let God do his work in them, then I believe we have done our jobs and welcomed another person into our Christian family

Just remember that music is an art form, and is an artists interpretation of feelings. They must try to fit a message, feeling, thought, scripture, quote, etc. into the parameters of a rhyme sceme and make it work with a melody. Add to that the thought that the song is meant to lift our heart and praise our God. I know that when I am praising, I tend to be much more "flowery", or "sugary" out of respect and love and the intent to express my love purely to Him.

I agree with you on our approach to spreading the word. I think I try my best to model Christian behavior and Christian values. Sometimes people ask me why I did this or that, or how I can deal with such and such, and that's my chance to say that my faith is what does it. I give God all the credit. I don't force anything down anybody's throat because my sister does that and it drives people away from Christ!

I disagree with you though or the music. I view contemporary Christian music as a form of worship, and as such, I truly enjoy it.
