One time, when I was traveling through South Carolina, I saw a high school whose teams were called the "Fightin' Rebels."
And their mascot was a cartoon confederate soldier waving the dixie flag. No joke.
That was a while ago, and they must have changed it for obvious reasons, but I still think it was funny.
