I would say no because it is too prickly and these two species of plants are very different. I am sure you can find many other types of weeds out there to feed. You do not need to feed every type of weed suggested in a care sheet. A variety in diet is key. It's harder said than done. In summer, you really need to go around and find some weeds to feed your tortoise.

I don't know if you have checked out Tortoise Trust. Theyhave many excellent articles on feeding tortoises.

Cheers,
JJ ;)

It really depends on what kind of tortoise you have. I take tortoise keeping very seriously. My husband and I have recently started a tortoise rescue and are already up to 13, 9 different kinds. We have spent hours on the Internet researching each one and what it's needs were. That is what I recommend you do. Just type in your particular type of turtle and the word diet. You will soon find out everything you need to know to make sure your tortoise lives a long and healthy life. They will also give you the proper sites to go on to either buy your needed food requirements or to grow them. One of the best ones is the World Chelonian Trust Site, (WCT). They also have a yahoo email group. In fact they also have a medical emergency contact, where you can contact them if you think you might have a serious problem and they will get back to you within 24 hours as to what they think you should do.Good Luck and have fun.
