The first thing to do, is to put the equation into the form y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept (you'll see why in a moment).
So, 4x + 2y = 8 Now subtract 4x from each side of the equation and you get:
2y= -4x + 8 Now divide by 2 on both sides of the equation, and you get:
y = -2x + 4
So, the y-intercept is 4. This is because the y-intercept is defined as the point where x=0. Substitute x=0 into the equation and you get 4.
Now, to get the x intercept (the value of x when y=0), substitute 0 for y and solve for x. So, you get:
0 = -2x + 4 substract 4 from both sides and you get:
-4 = -2x now divide by -2 on both side and you get:
x=2
So, the y-intercept is (0,4) and the x-intercept is (2,0)

Y intercept
X = 0
4x + 2y = 8
4(0) + 2y = 8
0 + 2y = 8
2y = 8
2y / 2 = 8 / 2
y = 8 / 2
y = 4
The y intercept is 4

x Intercept
Y = 0
4x + 2y = 8
4x + 2(0) = 8
4x + 0= 8
4x /4 = 8 / 4
x = 8 / 4
x = 2
x intercept is 2

First extract the y variable to the left side. Then create a table with x variables - have 5 or 6 of them. Then add them to the equation and there you have x/y variables ready for the graph. Now draw up x and y coordinate and feel up the variables that you have. Connect the dots, and its ready. This looks like a parabole, but im not sure. Anyway, i think i gave you a little more then you need.
