We, (well, my boss has, which i have to take care of) have 2 beta fish in 2 separate tanks. We have had them for about 3 1/2 years. They live through rain, hail, lightning, thunder, lol, nothing seems to phase them, but for almost 6 weeks now, our little blue one has decided not to eat, anything, AT ALL. We've tried switching foods, from pellets to flakes to shrimp to bloodworms, we've treated the water, we've washed the bowls out, we've cleaned the rocks and still treat the water. He looks and acts fine, he gets excited when someone comes near the bowl, if you drop a pellet on the water, he comes right up to it, pushes it with his mouth and swims away (every day he does this...) but doesn't eat. Can anyone help? I feel so bad... i don't know what else we can do and the petshop just says, well, if he doesn't eat, he's gonna die. ANYONE?? :) Thanks!

when i mean we've tried everything, we've tried everything! Moved them apart, crushed the pellets up (which have been the same pellets he's been eating for 3+ years and he just stopped eating out of nowhere and i just don't know what to do with my poor fishy buddy...

I fish will rarely last 6 weeks without food, so he's getting alittle something from somewhere that he's eating. As a possible answer, try live mosquito larvae. it's quite easy to find in most any standing water this time of year or you can easily culture your own by simply placing a bowl or bucket of water in a shady spot for a few days. A handfull of grass or leaves added to the water will help encourage mosquitos to lay eggs there and the larvae will hatch in a few days.

When they eat nothing else, they will eat this, it's their main source of food in the wild.

the pellets might be to big for hiss mouth try smooshing them and then give them to him and also if they face each other might want to move them
