~I used to pay homeage to him everytime I had a peanut butter sandwich. That, of course was a long time ago before I learned he had nothing whatsoever to do with inventing it. (Now I thank the ancient Mayans, the Australian Aborigines and W Kellogg, who actually did invent the stuff.
As to Carver, I'm still inspired when I eat dry honey roast peanuts. He didn't invent them, either, but why not?
If your looking for real black heroes, try W E B Dubois or Andrew Young.

One of the few, if only, indegenous American foods is peanut butter. George Washington Carver invented it.
He contributed a major cheap source of protein that has become a staple in the American diet.

Personally he doesn't inspire me but it is very logical how he can inspire a lot of people. The most impressive thing about him is how he was rejected from College because he was black, but he still perserved. Also he changed southern farming, by intorducing the peanut. This is how he changed the world, he made the peanut into a viable cash crop.

Not a great question....but...Carver didn't give up...he invented hundreds of things to do with the peanut...

He didn't stop with one or two things...I guess he changed the world in some way....peanut farmers sure are glad!
...you could saw he added much to the fields of science and agriculture. He also made Tuskeegee Universtity famous.
