in kentucky you have to be at least 18 to go in and get a piercing yourself.you can do it if you have parental consent as well.

do you have to be a certain age to go and get a piercing without parental consent or can you just go get one no matter what age?

YOu must be at least 18 or have parental consent for both piercings and tattoos.

According to NCGS 14-400, minors can get piercings with parental consent but the parent/legal guardian must be present to sign their consent. However, minors cannot get tattoos AT ALL. This includes emancipated teens; there is no provision for it.
