Like a Cat, that isn't really cat, but we can name them in scienticly as pekachue. Like Dogs & cats.

A newly-discovered species could actually be given a pokemon name, but the discovering biologist would have to be a pokemon fan, since they have the privilege of naming rights.

Because, following long scientific tradition, a new species is usually give a Latin or a Greek name, since words in these dead languages do not change in meaning over time as would words in a living language, like Japanese or English.

Because most animals and plants have long scientific names. These came a long time before pokemon did. For scientists they have known these names for generations so I doubt it will change.

The Biological names for any new discovery species must to be in Latin... it needs to be named that way so it will be recognized world wide with the same BIOLOGICAL LATIN word... we need to speak "one same language" and the language used its Latin.

A domestic cat is called Felix catus
A dog is called Canis lupus familiaris
The pokemon 'pekachue' is spelled Pikachu.

We also have hybird cats - ligers, tigons etc.
