like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro?

Does that make any sense at all?

Are they just kindred spirits in their hatred for the USA?

Castro is a totalitarian ruler. Chavez was elected but seems to have a dictatorial bent.
The reason why liberals and progressives like those two is because they have dared to stand against the USA when this wants to imposed its will on them.
Keep in mine that the USA has very often supported dictators by the bushel and a peck. So why does the USA acts as it does toward Castro and Chavez?
Answer: because those two do not comply with Washington desires.

Fidel Castro overthrew a dictatorial government much like the government of Saddam Hussian, only Castro was successful and unfortunately adapted a socialized type of government.
Chavez was elected by the people of his government much like George W. Bush in his second term of office.
Of course George W. Bush was not elected by the majority of the people for his first term of office and actually was selected for the President of the United States by the Conservative Supreme Court.
Thanks

It seems to me, if my history is correct, that JFK was considered a liberal progressive by most of the the Right Wing back in the late fifties and early sixties? Now I may be wrong, he could have been a moderate to liberal, but, he was an absolute progressive. And, I seem to remember that he did everything he could short of using US troops to rid the world of Fidel. And, wasn't it JFK who stood up to the Russians on almost every issue involving our nations security? Just some questions for those of you who are just a "little" right of Center.

No,liberals love America. Not all liberals support those leaders.I wouldn't call them totalitarian thugs.Fidel Castro is better than the regime he replaced.Hugo Chavez was democratically elected in fair free and open elections. He's only a threat to the US economic interests and that's why America tries to demonize him. He's outspoken, left and wants to free the world of US oppression in Latin America and around the globe

Wow! Exactly where did you get that one? I guess this is another case of beating up the 'liberal' strawman by accusing this non-existant critter of another crime. Don't you guys ever get tired of that kind obvious propaganda? Nobody is enamored with either one of those guys, but it is their country...They can run it as they see fit. If the people there want to have folks like the guys you mentioned running the store it's none of our business. If those folks don't get free and fair elections then that's on them.....but if they vote these guys in, then that's on them as well. How hard a concept is that? As long as they don't give us grief what's the problem? Why don't you use your next post to accuse the 'liberals' of eating their children...now there's a question we can sink our teeth into!

Because to the thugs of the world liberals are the useful fools that Lenin and Stalin held dear. The ones that would tie the hands of our troops and water down any response to agression. To "give peace a chance".

Why have conservatives been willing to overthrow democratically elected governments in Latin America? Guatemala in 1954, Chile in 1973, for instance.
