Is it better to take the Eurostar train to visit Paris from London or the ferry ride? I'm booking my tickets and wanted to choose. Please let me know your experience and what you liked about each of them. I'm traveling from U.S. to U.K. for the summer and wanted to take 3-4 day trips from London to other parts of Europe.

I find the train less hassle. You have to go through a security check at the station you get on the train, and for that need to be half an hour early, but then you can sit down and relax till you are at your destination.
If you travel by ferry you will need to change from train to ferry, (and still have that check and waiting time,) and the same at the other end.
Or you travel by bus, and that takes more time and is less comfortable.
Most ferries now are the fast kind where you are enclosed at all times, so the charm of a ferry ride is small.
Better to take a trip to the shore (like Dover) one day and see the coast that way.
For destinations within Europe, consider flying with the cheaper airlines, but Paris and Belgium are convenient by train.
