Odd question. Most? Well, eyesight tends to deteriorate as people age, and there are/have been few young dictators.

whether wearing glasses increases one's chances of becoming a dictator seems highly unlikely as I meet hundreds of people every week, many of whom wear glasses, but none seem to be dictators.

But if you are afraid that you might become a dictator, I suggest you don't wear glasses and if you end up blind, learn braille!

Did Stalin wear glasses? No
Did Hitler wera Glasses? No
Castro wears glasses
Chavez does not.
Ho Chi Minh did not wear glasses.
Mussolini did wear glasses

I don't know I think there's just something to do with how easily they give up. Non wearers are power grippers.

I don't think so. You'd probably be more at risk of becoming one if you wore a beard. Do you think Kim II Sung and Elton John have the same fetish for eyewear?

I don't know about glasses, but I have seen a trend where dictators tend to have two arms, two legs, and eat bread.
Did you know bread is dangerous? 95% of criminals eat bread before committing a crime!
And 86.21% of statistics are made up on the spot...

No, they don't. They work on their public image and consider eyeglasses to be a sign of weakness.
Note: Castro needs glasses because he's near-sighted, but is careful to wear them as little as possible.

Interesting theory, but before you start rounding up all us "speccies" bear in mind your eyesight deteriorates with age. As you become older, you're more likely to need them! (And there are few "young dictators").
Stalin did, Hitler did, Mussolini did.

(Chavez is elected by the way "DaveBanner")
Bush does, Blair does, Mitterand does,
