Their response to a supposed "liberal media" is to counter with a conservative media. But what really gets them mad is when an unbias media ends up supposedly "liberal". Wikipedia is a good example. Wikipedia should be looked at very cautiously, but it is edited by EVERYONE, yet they complain that it has a liberal bias. So apparently everyone, on average, has liberals bias.

I am a conservative and I don't think that media is necessary biased to the left or the right. I think they biased towards ratings and if truth doesn't play well it just doesn't get reported. My question is does it really matter if it is biased? In this day and age you can get news and opinion slanted to almost any viewpoint you choose to hold, it may not always be the truth, but then truth is always the first casualty. The truth is out there, sometimes you have to dig a little bit deeper than a 30 second news spot on any network to find it.

All we want is just the facts and the truth in the news reporting. Tell the whole story, both sides. The war in Iraq is a good example.. We never hear all the great things that are going on in Iraq. How much loved we are over there by the people. How compare to other wars how few have been killed. Compare to our own fight for freedom in the 1700's how well things are going over there. No we will never get the facts or the truth from ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, CNN, PBS, The New York Times, The LA Times, The Washington Post.

I agree with Schaufel (sorry if I mispelled). You can't be completely unbiased, irregardless if you are Fox News or CNN. It is important to be balanced. I'm afraid that none of our news networks are completely balanced. That's why it is important to listen to various news sources to get the complete picture, instead of just watch Bill O'Reilly bash liberals or Keith Obermann (sp?) yell at President Bush on the air.
While I, as a conservative (not a Republican, mind you) do want a unbiased media, it isn't going to happen, so I will settle for a balanced one instead
Cheers!!

Speaking personally, I whine about the media period. I do not single out any particular media.
I really am disgusted that we Americans think we are so "progressive" when we must be continually told WHAT to think!
I consider ALL media suspect. I examine THEIR motives. Basically, I consider it personal responsibility.
I do not seek to control the media. It's free, under our US Constitution. But if it all shut up, maybe we would learn to think for ourselves again.

Well, yes, I'm INTERESTED in fostering an unbiased media. And I'm still LOOKING for unbiased media!! (I was very, very impressed with Jake Tapper's book, "Down and Dirty: The Plot to Steal the Presidency," about the 2000 election fiasco. Now that was one very even-handed book.)

liberal media= nearly all cable news, all network news, most print news, and not to mention the liberal establishment that is the film, tv and music industry.
conservative news= fox(neocon), some newspapers, and radio.
when liberals talk about an unbiased media, they mean keeping everything liberal, and ending conservative voices on talk radio - because after all, there really is no opinion besides liberal to elitist facists.

Well, considering the fact that most media is conservative-biased, I'll go with the latter.

There is no such thing as an UNBIASED media today. Just deciding what to report on , creates bias.

I would prefer an unbiased media...just give me the facts without a liberal or conservative slant and let me draw my own conclusions. Until that cold day in hell I'll choose FOX News and talk radio any day of the week.
