I am a bit stumped by all this, in the end I ask something of some historical character and it does not get any replies while at the same time I ask a silly question and it gets loaded.

By the way I know that was quite the run-on sentence but oh well such is life right?

Hello...it's hard to define what make a question interesting. I answer, or try to do so, the ones that are interesting, the ones that make me think, the funny ones....
I answered yours...guess under what category I placed it :) lol

people look at the header of the question and if it doesnt look interesting enough then they wont even bother to open the question, therefor, not answering it. spice up the header of your question.
the second reason people answer the silly ones is because a lot of the serious ones are either too long, too boring, too drama filled or some people cant comprehend the serious questions, especially if their brain is fried from being at work all day. sometimes its nice to answer the silly ones for a release or a laugh.

Sometimes I'll answer if it is something I know about personally, other times I'll answer because I think the question is interesting. Alot of times I will answer because no one else did ..or there are only a few people that did and there answers were mean or not helpful. I like this question and run- on sentences are my favorite..lol.

Funny! :-) Sometimes I can't seem to find a question to answer, and sometimes I'm on a roll.

You're right: silly questions seem to get a lot of answers, I think because they don't require much thought. Also, a fairly easy way to build points is to answer as lightly and quickly as possible, then hop on to the next. Polls and Surveys is a fairly easy category to do this in. Yes. 2 points! No. 2 points!

If you have a serious question, P&S is not the catagory you want to put it under. This catagory is a tougne in cheek, sarcastic and humorist site. It really rocks as far as entertaining goes. Most of the other catagories are informative and most somewhat educational. Occassionaly you will find some humor in them as well. Most of us here on Poll and surveys are having fun getting points that mean nothiong to anyone. Go figure. I hope this helps.

I totally know where you're coming from Angelo, as I've encountered the same problem. Awww well, I just go with the flow and answer the ones that spark my interest ... sometimes serious and at times, silly ... but never-the-less entertaining. Have a gr8 day!! :)

I look for questions that are about subjects that interest me. I prefer answering questions from my own experience, but if there's something relatively easy to answer that I do not know, I will look it up. I also generally look for questions that don't already have answers.

A lot of people like answering silly questions because they think it means they can give silly answers.

...I hear ya...it's sometimes the way it's worded...I've asked "fun" or silly questions before just for a laugh and got maybe 1 or 2 responses...I found that folks generally like to relate a part of themselves in an answer...present company included, and this type of question is usually a better recipe for more answers

more people can answer silly questions cuz it's a matter of opinion or something like that with a serious question it takes intelligent people that know that subject and honestly how many of them are on here? i'm the same way don't worry your not alone
