Gabrielle - if you, and your parents live in the United States - it is unconscionable that you didn't know this. You should have had them all down pat by the 8th Grade.
What is much, much worse is that you had to educate your parents - did they graduate from High School?
I graduated from High School over 30 years ago and I STILL remember them. I probably could run them off in order if I wanted to. We had to memorize them and also know stuff about each one. My mother can do it and she's 80!!
If you DO live here, and have any hope of going to college, please continue doing what you're doing - researching history on your own. You should be very proud of yourself for taking the initiative to do so.
Good Luck!!

WOW ... that is OLD News ... I suggested this in my wrestling organization a few weeks or extra in the past ...... However; with Mike being on a 60 day suspension .. it's nonetheless now not transparent IF he'll have a role to return again to ..... on account that the entire different comments which were attributed to him . Mike is a VERY near pal of the McMahon loved ones and WAS might be the Most Important and Powerful character some of the inventive group and Bookers .... At this time .... Vince has now not made any feedback to the general public concerning Michael Hayes and his Comments or to Mikes long run with the WWE ..... Some feel that Michael "PS" Hayes will accept a company task inside the partitions of Titan Towers ....

When I was 13, I memorized all of the President's last names in order. I can't recite the names any longer, but if someone mentions a name, I can likely tell you some sort of fact about that President.
I can remember a teacher in 6th grade said that only Kennedy and Lincoln were assassinated, but that's NOT true. Four presidents have been assassinated. I remember correcting her, and she was somewhat upset with me for doing that in class. I learned that a little discretion helps.
Later on in high school civics our teachers did more with the presidents.
My only concern is to remember that Presidents were people of their time. Some were very effective and strong, while others were not, particularly in the 19th century. Their ability to get things done had a lot to do with their own ability to organize alliances, work with Congress and deal with the temperament of their political parties. In the mid 19th century leading up to the Civil War, a number of Presidents were not very effective, in trying to placate the implacable.
I'm glad you're interested. Be sure to learn more about Presidential powers and how that balances with the other parts of the government.

Yes, and Rutherford B. Hayes was not at all a lesser known president- however, some presidents were like old soldiers, they just faded away. He was also a major general during the American Civil War and he was wounded a staggering 4 times.
Ten facts about Rutherford B. Hayes from the archives of the Hayes Presidential Center Library...
* Hayes was the first president to take the oath of office in the White House.
* Hayes was the only president whose election was decided by a congressional commission.
* Hayes was the first president to travel to the West Coast during his term as president.
* Hayes was the first president to have a telephone in the White House.
* Hayes was the first president to have a typewriter in the White House.
* Though other presidents served in the Civil War, Hayes was the only one to have been wounded - four times!
* Hayes began the "Easter Egg Roll" for children on the White House Lawn (1878) - a tradition which still continues on the Monday after Easter.
* Lucy Webb Hayes was the first wife of a president to graduate from college,
* Lucy Webb Hayes was the first wife of a president to be called "First Lady".
* Hayes' best known quotation - "he serves his party best who serves his country best." Inaugural Address, 1877.

I can tell you where I first remember Hayes from; the Animaniacs cartoon show. They had a Presidents of the United States song that was rather catchy and thus made it easy to memorize them all.
"It's 1877 and the democrats would gloat
But they're all amazed when Rutherford B. Hayes
Wins by just one vote."
But as for importance... meh, I was always more interested in Ancient History.

you'll be surprised at the number of presidents people don't know for example:
William Henry Harrison (lasted a month in office)
Millard Fillmore
Franklin Pierce
James Buchanan
James Garfield (the guy after Hayes)
Chester A Arthur
Benjamin Harrison
ask your perents about any of these and check the results.
