Why was everyone suprised the London and Scotland bombers were Doctors?

It didnt suprise me at all. Look at the history of these terrorist attacks. These are not being carried out by stupid people from some tiny village or living in a cave somewhere. The 911 hijackers for instance-all were college educated people from middle to upper class families.
I can already give you a description of the next terrorist attackers/bombers in the UK or America- their background and who they will be. They will be Islamic/muslims - college graduates, "professional" type people if you will. They could pass for businessmen or doctors or whatever. Really so normal and well educated that they wouldnt draw much attention. They will NOT be some uneducated poor bum living in a shack over in Iraq or somewhere.

Most people were surprised because they can't think for themselves, they rely on th politically correct media to do all thie thinking for them, and the Politically Corrcet media would NEVER suggest that radical Islam is responsible for anything, be it the teens with no hope and not future, the doctors in the UK, the burka wearing mom in the park, or the cab driver in NYC who will turn his cab into a bomb one day. When will we wake up and start profiling these people? When will the peace-loving Muslims start informing the authorities what their radical friends are up to???

The next question is, how can you sort out these murderous muslims? Is there any way to identify them before they do their dirty deeds? If there is not, then generalizations may have to be made. Such as profiling. But what will that show? Nothing. The most clever lying killer will be able to deceive any interrogation. Apparently, if they go into a mosque, they are a threat to all? These guys were not bearded, either.

It disgusts me, because we like to think that physicians have dedicated themselves to preserving life, not taking it. Obviously these men have found a "lower calling."

It doesn't surprise me though, because there are/have been many doctors at the forefront of terrorist movements. Ayman al-Zawahiri is a pediatrician. George Habash and Wadi Haddad, founders of the PFLP in the 1970's, were both pediatricians (although Christian, not Muslim). Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi, a former leader of Hamas, was also a pediatrician (so what's the pediatrician connection, already?!)

The members of these small cells must be self-motivated and intelligent enough to organize themselves and teach themselves what they need to know to pull off an attack.

It is 'surprising' or perhaps a better word is 'shocking' because one thinks of doctors helping people. These people were real doctors, they were trained and professional so one would think that, what they attempted to do was opposite to the code of their profession.

No. It makes more sense that these people are educated rather than barbarians at the gate.

If you wanted to do something like this, what better way to hide in plain sight than a doctor acting as if he or she is there to save lives. They could get a way with murder before anyone realized it.
