If the x-ray is taken on the lower half of your body it will. Any foreign object will show up. When my brother swallowed a marble when we were kids, the doctor took an x-ray to make sure that it hadn't lodged anywhere and you could see it on the x-ray.

Probably. Modern X-rays show cartilage and other soft tissues, so I imagine that a dense-bulk item such as a tampon might very well show up.

No because xrays pick up dense tissues well, but a tampon is not dense enough to be detected by an x ray.

It might produce a slightly "cloudy" area on the x-ray... but it would not show up strongly because it is not metal or thick plastic...
