you did not say what type of discharge you have, but if it is that much, you should see your doctor to make sure you don't have an infection.

You probably could if the discharge was heavy enough, but I personally, wouldn't recommend it. You can get TSS from any tampon usage, but because you'd be using a tampon for something totally different than your menstral cycle there's an increased chance you could develope TSS. Take precaution and just use a panty liner.

If you have so much discharge that a tampon would absorb it then you need to consult your doctor because that isn't normal.

Yes, you would be putting yourself at risk for TSS.

Even light tampons are not meant for absorbing discharge.

Try a panty liner instead.

You shouldn't use a tampon for any other reason then your period. Yes you have an extreme risk of getting TSS.. if you are worried about discharge wear a panty liner instead

You can get TSS from a tampon regardless of if you are bleeding or not. Be aware of the symptoms and call your doc; it is extrememly rare. If you are having a lot of discharge use a pantyliner/pad and call your doctor, it is not normal.
If it turns out normal for you personally, I would recommend not using a tampon for this purpose.
Probably a pad would be the best option for this. They have pads now that come with cleansing towlettes attached, that may help you feel cleaner. Good luck

No, you can't use a tampon to stop discharge. I usually just use a pantyliner and it works great for me. Also, i don't think that you can get tss because you can only get it from leaving the tampon in place for to long. I hope this helped. =)

1) You should never use tampons unless you are having a period

2) TSS can happen with or without tampons, however, tampons do increase the risk and that is why you should not use tampons for any longer than 4 hours at a time, before you change them, and never at any other time than when you are having a period

3) It is potentially fatal due to the reasons stated above

Discharge is your body's natural way of cleansing itself. Just wear a pantyliner. If you wear a tampon when you aren't on your period, you are definitely at a higher risk for TSS. They have scented pantyliners if those would make your feel more comfy. The Always pantyliners are super thin but keep your panties dry. Try those. They come scented or non-scented.

A tampon is used to absorb your menstrual period. Almost no one gets tss if they follow the instructions. That means, don't leave it in more than four hours. No, it's not dangerous.

If you don't have a period, don't use tampons. It can increase your risk of getting TSS. For (heavy) discharge, use a panty liner.
