A guy i know is very busy and not a writer but since i can't see him because we live so far away from each other i write him. I just tell him what is going on in my life. I have humor. When i visit the town i go and see him and he seems happy. He never mentions the letters. He always seems happy to see me and never says not to write. What is your view and opinions of this..do men like to get letters from women they like. I know alot of men just don't write and don't really like to ''talk'' about things like a women do. But do they like to hear or read stuff that women like to talk about..i write about everything and anything ..I also mention him..like how i miss certain things about him and so on...I just want to know what men think of this kind of thing.

From my knowledge, yes a man likes it if he likes you. It's personal. It has taken effort. It shows a lot of love. I think it's a good thing as long as you don't overwhelm him and he isn't feeling pressured to reciprocate. Maybe they might not care too much about all the details, but I think he probably appreciates your effort and love and sees how much you are putting in. Try to back off just a bit, and be a lil unpredictable. Dont write too often. This way, he does cherish when your letter comes in.....this will prevent him for taking things for granted. Just my personal thought.

Personally I don't really like to read letters from women I like, because they normally end with either "you are a great friend" or "stop rummaging through my bins and stealing my underpants".

I'm joking of course- haha.
But seriously, I like recieving letters and hearing about stuff but I'd much rather talk or text the person or see them to get how things are. I consider letters to be like nice gifts, but personally I don't sort of pore over them and clutch them to my chest. Sure they are nice, but not as nice as an old toothbrush or something.

PS that last part and other parts about stealing underpants etc weren't true- though I have had letters signalling the end of relationships/friendships

A better one will write to you.
Try penpalling to a guy since your writing already. Gain some confidence.
Try being an independent woman first.
Start writing a few pages for a book everyday.
Make an album of names you like, clothes you prefer, music that inspires you, places that call your name, foods that you would like to try. Then save up enough money and go alone on a day vacation to another city or state and go shopping for an album cover for your album.

Keep it in a shoebox until you have an album made.
Write a time capsule letter to yourself and give it to your best friend to keep for a specific amount of time. Then have a sleepover and reflect on it. "Tonight is the night I am oficially over dear john", and remember to have celery carrots and bluecheese.
Have fun.

those are the best letters. It sets the bar at a whole new level for letter writing. I think it would be nice if he at least aknowledged you letters but I can't believe he doesn't write back. There are so many fun and beautiful cards to send that seem to conjure memories or images of my girlfriend, I love to buy them and send them to her with some loving words and funny quips . For no reason at all except I love her.

I can't speak for all men, but I like letters. There is a "personal" touch to them that email can't provide you. It allows the person reading to get into the authors head for a short period of time.

If he isn't mentioning your letters, perhaps you should ask if he is even receiving them.

Personally, I love letters or notes written by the lady I like. I would think other men would like it too.

Women love words / thoughts, like letters and poems.

Men are more visual, so he reacts to seeing you.

I guess I'm not dissuading you... just throw a picture in each envelope, too! :)
