firefox is a really fast browser and it loads pages faster than internet explorer, even though it starts up faster. and you can
tweak firefox so it can load pages even faster.
to download it go here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

dont know if you want this, but if you DO download it here is how you can tweak firefox:

Type in 'about:config' (without quotes) in the address bar of Firefox.
In the filter bar, type in 'network.http' (without quotes). set the preference network.http.pipelining to 'true' .

Also set network.http.proxy.pipelining to 'true'

For network.http.pipelining. maxrequests . You can see that this is set to 4. what this means is under pipelining, the browser will make 4 requests to a server at once. change it to 30 or 32

network.http.pipelining.firstrequest .
for this right click on about:config page and select new- > boolean . now type in network.http.pipelining.firstrequest and set this to true.

Right click in the about:config page and select new -> Integer and type nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set this to 0

hope this helped

Firefox is, without a doubt, the better of the two. Firefox is fully complaint with the standards set by the online community. Explore fails to render some websites properly, not because the website is written poorly, but because IE has well known issues with compliance. Firefox was written by the online community for the online community to the standards set by the online community. IE is a Microsoft product designed to integrate with their other products. The internet is not a Microsoft product.

Firefox is just a better, faster, more standard-conformant browser than IE. The only reason IE is more popular is because of Windows. Crackers mostly target IE users to exploit the browser's bugs. It is generally easier to get viruses in IE than other browsers. There are a lot of extensions available in Firefox that you can really make it work specifically for you. Everyone I know never went back to IE once they switched over to Firefox.

Also take a look at the Safari for Windows as introduced in the WWDC2007. Steve Jobs demo'ed the speed comparisons between Safari and IE (or Firefox, can't quite remember) to show Safari outperforms the other.

FireFox is a web browser like Internet Explorer, except that it runs faster and more efficiently that IE. The newest version of IE is simillar to FireFox in that it incorporates the use of tabbed browsing, among other things. My personal preference is FireFox. You can find FireFox at www.mozilla.com.

FireFox is simply an alternate internet browser. It blocks a lot of the problems that IE has, such as viruses and it makes it harder for criminals to trace your information through encoding and such. I find that it works better too. They now have an Ad-On called IE tab that will make the pages look exactly like they would in IE (IE is more lenient on coding, and if a website isn't coded correctly, as often happens with beginning designers, it sometimes appears differently, and some things on MySpace and such are different...) so it's becoming an integrated, all-in-one browser that I would HIGHLY recommend.

There are a few problem I encounter sometimes when using Internet Explorer that I don't come across using Firefox. On my myspace for example, I like to use translucent .png images. In Firefox they show up great, but in IE they add a block of light blue color behind the image. I've also noticed similar problems with .gif images sometimes, but they usually show up correctly on IE. I definitely prefer Firefox to IE.

Firefox is an open source web browser based largely on the browser formerly known as Netscape. After Netscape was wiped out by Microsofts anti-competitive (and illegal ) monopolistic practices, the Mozilla organization was formed. certain closed source libraries that had been licenses by Netscape were replaced by open-source alternatives, and Mozilla was soon available for all Os platforms. After Mozilla, which was a complete ineternet suite, they developed a leaner web browser named Firefox, with emphasis on speed functionality and security. The current web browser from Mozilla is IceWeasel.
Many consider Firefox to be superior to Internet Explorer in features, stability and security. Its security comes from the fact that it is not "tightly integrated" to the Windows OS and as such, it presents fewer vulnerabilities to the internet. It is also more compliant to world wide web consortium specified standards in rendering html.

Firefox is a browser, like Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.

Which one is better is like asking a car owner what he likes better; a ford or a chevy. It is all a matter of taste, and what features each different browser has to attract your loyalty.

Firefox is written by techies. It was written and is currently being updated by techies. It was originally intended for techie use, but became popular to the public.

You can run more than one browser on your Windows XP machine. Download it and check it out.

The download address is below.
