This is a philosophy forum. Why are so many insistent in pursuing an intellictually feeble argument that has some divine entity creating animals from nothing?

Blam! A chicken.

This is anthropologically troubling and offers no opportunity for discussion.

How about this...Wham! An egg? I mean, according to the most ardent conservative, isn't this egg already a full-fledged chicken?

From a religious point of view, the chicken. When God created the world, he just made the first pairs of animals; at which point he said `Be fruitful and multiply.´ Which obviously means, lay an egg before you die to continue the species.

Genesis 1:20 Then God said, "Let the water teem with an abundance of living creatures, and on the earth let birds fly beneath the the dome of the sky." All creatures were created by God, that includes the Chicken and the Rooster, and they multiplied. In order to gain some insight and understanding read the story of Creation in your Bible, starting with the chapter one of Genesis.

Neither.

What came first was the idea of both.

The chicken and the egg are simply the physical manifestation of "the idea" of them.

And the physical manifestation of them (whether as an egg or chicken) is a reflection and result of the stage or cycle in or of the manifestation of that idea.

It was neither, it was the 'proto-chicken', which was neither a chicken as we know it nor an egg.
