Friendship and rainbows are similar in a lot of ways.
Rainbows are colourful wonders. And friendship can color your life with smiles, happiness and precious moments. Just like the stains of color given by rainbows, friendship offers the adrenaline and spicy feeling that your life needs.
Rainbows are symbols of hope. They are considered metaphorical promises. Whenever they appear on the sky, it's like a promise is written and engraved in the ground of the sky, telling you to hold in, to go on. And friendship has the same role. It keeps your life balanced, it helps you maintain your state, its presence is like a reassuring promise.

The way I see it, is that as there are many colors to a rainbow, there are many facets in a friendship, different moods compared to the different colors of the rainbow.
I don't see it as friendship comes in many colors which is a given- the human race is compossed of many colors as a rainbow is- but rather see it as just that the different faces a friendship has- which is where the beauty of friendship lies- just like the "pot of gold" at the end of a rainbow - the metaphor for this would be the endurance of a friendship - which is the reward!

Like the different colours of the rainbow friends come in different shapes and sizes. Like the disappearing rainbow some are fair weather friends who leave you in the lurch. At the end of the rainbow they say lies a pot of gold. This might be a fairy tale but a friend in need is a friend indeed. A rainbow is an arc but friendship is a circle of trust, love and understanding.

ok....Although friendship has no color, but the joy of having them is more beautiful than a rainbow. Friendship brings color to life and true friendship last forever.
Rainbow show how beautiful it is but it won't listen like a friend will. And it just fade away even without telling you so.

all the colors in the rainbow are nice to look at, all have a different feeling and all the colors make you feel a little different when you look at them, and they are ALL great in one way or another!!!!
and so are all my ( your) friends, they are all different in many ways but all are great in their own ways, this is what makes a rainbow and friends the best stuff in the world!!!!!!

The short wavelength end - blue/violet/ultraviolet - the quick friendship for a day/week/month or so.

The mid wavelength - green/yellow - family/neighbors for a year/decade
