Life experience is just that. The sum total of the things you have experienced in your life. If you referring to the credits given at some colleges or university's, Here is an example, for me, I was a Police Officer until I was injured in the line of duty and retired. I went back to a university to finish my education. They gave me a certain amount of credits towards my degree for the experience and training I received as a Cop.

Life experience is anything you faced in your life that made an impact on you, ie Military or police service, firefighting, near death experiences
