hey, I live in PA and my dad is looking for a house. theres one right across the street from my grandma and he helps take care of her so it would be perfect if he could get that house but he would never buy it because its all run down. Are there government grants or programs available to remodel homes like this?

Some cities have programs for neighborhood redevelopment. These include reduced rate loans or special grants for this type of project. Check with your city or county officials.

Such programs are generally available through local governments, such as a city neighborhood improvement program. I am not aware of any statewide or federal programs of this nature.

Check with the municipality in which this property is located.
