Believe it or not a grave yard. I had a friend who needed to attend a funeral however it was not someone I knew and it was not my place to go to the funeral but I could not let my friend miss it. So, I dropped her off and found myself a nice shady spot under a tree and read while she went to the services. It was quite relaxing really. Good question.

I usually take a book with me wherever I go, but I think the weirdest place is probably in the movie theater. It's also common to spot me with a book in a restraunt, the bathtub, in a parking lot while waiting to meet up with friends, etc. My favorite place I've ever read in, which some people might call weird, is in a hotel room bay window in Vienna overlooking a main intersection at night. It's about the only thing I remember when I think of Crime and Punishment...

When you love a good book it is hard to put it down, especially if you love to read. I have read in some interesting places too...at the doctor's office as I am waiting for him to enter, before surgery, at the mall waiting for my kids, on the bus, in the fruit cellar as I was canning fruit (in between my canning) and best of all, reading my way through Italy on the Train. I read from Northern Italy to Southern Italy on the Train.. I would look up at special stops and then go back to my reading. My friends thought I was nuts. I tried to read in the bathtub, but it is too wet, and I love my books too much to get them ruined.

Hmm the bathtub or sitting in the road supposedly watching fireworks. =b
I had just got Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix(the day it came out) and I had to take a bath and then go watch fireworks...so I couldnt put the book down. I actually had the book with me reading it while bathing...then(the street was blocked off so no cars could hit me) I sat down in the middle of the road while everyone else watching fireworks and I read by the light of the fireworks. ;)
Good times. :)

At a nightclub on some long past New Years Eve. I kept getting drunk guys coming up and asking me what I was reading and then hitting on me.
I was getting more attention than the girls who were flashing their bits on the dance floor were getting. I was so amused I kept reading the same line, my concentration being constantly interrupted by drunken meatheads.
I think I read the same line ten times. I must add that was my sixth nightclub that night, my roommates organized a night of club hopping and chose every mainstream sad club that they knew. By the sixth club I was more than bored and fed up. Reading my book seemed far more interesting. It was Albert Camus The Outsider (L'Ãtranger). Still a mighty fine book in my opinion.

in the bath and shower. I put the book into a plastic folder and tape it up against the wall when i'm in the shower. It's good, but you have to keep on drying your hands and taking the book out to turn a page so.... reading in the bath is LOADS better!

On my roof. It's very peaceful up there and a nice place to get away from everyone. I have to climb a tree to get up there though, and it's not too easy climbing a tree while holding a book and an ipod.

Well! I have this bad habit of hiding things, underneath the folded clothes, and I was looking for my diary, and found a novel that my brother had given me for Christmas, I opened it, read the first paragraph and got so involved, that I lost track of time and place........lol when I got hungry that's when I realized and got out of there........lol
